Depression

Depression is another common concerns for people. It is experienced in people across cultures, it can be experienced short term and/or long term,  and it can be effect anyone throughout their lifespan.  

It is common for people to experience sadness, grief, shame, and many other feelings that are also often reported in people that are depressed. The difference is people that are depressed have symptoms that do not allow them to fully function in their life or experience life to their fullest.

The symptoms to depression can be felt short term (acute) or long term (chronic) and depression can accompany other concerns such as anxiety. Like anxiety, depression can be common and it is often on of the most popular topics that is brought to therapy.

Depression can be a complicated concern especially if it is chronic. It is because of this that it can take time and different strategies to find out what works best to help people out of depression. 

Sometimes people can find a lot of success in using medication to help treat their depression and there is growing evidence that certain kinds of therapy combined with medication for depression creates the most opportunity for change and alleviation of symptoms. 

There are also many other ways that can help people give themselves the most opportunity to overcome or come out of depression. There are many life style choices that can help protect people from being overcome by depression in the future.
